What we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices.
What we collect
Account: your name, email address, and how you sign in (email code, Apple, or Google). We never see your Apple or Google password.
Bookings: dates, party size, payment status, messages with hosts, reviews, your hunting license state and number and optional hunter-education number, and your signed release.
Hosting: listing details, property lines, stand and camera locations, photos, payout details (held by our payment processor), right-to-list proof documents, phone number, and, if you use the on-site check, your device location and a photo taken at that moment.
Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, basic logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and debugging. Saved listings and a few preferences are stored on your own device.
How we use it
To run the marketplace (bookings, payouts, messages), to verify listings and prevent fraud, to keep people safe, to give support, to meet legal obligations, and to improve the Services. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Who sees what
Hosts see a guest's name, email, party size, license details, and signed release for their bookings. Guests see a host's first name, listing, and, after booking, parking and access details. Reviews are public with the reviewer's first name and last initial.
Right-to-list documents are visible only to the host who uploaded them and our reviewers.
Service providers process data for us under contract: hosting and storage (Cloudflare), email delivery, payments (for example Stripe and PayPal), sign-in with Apple and Google, map and weather data providers (we send coordinates, not your identity), and parcel-record providers for ownership checks.
We share information with law enforcement or others when required by law or to protect someone's safety.
Retention
We keep account and booking records while your account is open and as needed for taxes, disputes, and legal obligations (generally up to 7 years for transactions). Sign-in codes expire in 10 minutes; sessions expire after 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your profile, download your trips, and delete your account from your account page. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data and to opt out of certain processing. Email privacy@standhopper.com and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 and accounts are for adults 18 and older.
Security
We store only hashes of sign-in codes and session tokens, encrypt data in transit, restrict access to proof documents, and rely on our payment processors for card data, which never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at safety@standhopper.com if you find a problem.
Changes and contact
We will post changes here and tell you about material ones. StandHopper, Inc. · privacy@standhopper.com
